Believe it or not, it’s already time to mark your calendars for the start of the 2026-27 school year! To help our youngest learners transition smoothly into elementary school, HCPS is introducing a staggered First Day schedule for our incoming Kindergarteners. Please note the schedule below:

Monday, Aug. 24

- First day for Kindergarten students with last names A – M

- First day for all students in grades 1–5

Tuesday, Aug. 25

- First day for Kindergarten students with last names N – Z
(Kindergarten A–M do not attend)

- All students in grades 1–5 attend

Wednesday, Aug. 26

- All students (Kindergarten–5th Grade) attend together

This staggered start gives our newest Eagles a chance to comfortably learn the building, routines, and expectations in a smaller group setting before everyone joins together.
