Special thanks to Prisha Patel, a REES Alum and current Freeman High School student who is working with Mrs. Game to organize our current community service project. Prisha is an ambassador for Project Care for Kids, a student-founded and student-run organization that provides school supplies to children living in community shelters. We are collecting donations from students and families to further support their mission. Prisha and her teammates met with our 3rd-5th grade students to share their vision and encourage their involvement. They also invited students to write letters of encouragement to children in need to include with the donated supplies. As a former River’s Edge student, Prisha stated that she understood the strong the sense of community within Rivers Edge. Project Care for Kids believes teaching students about service and giving back at a young age can positively impact both the children receiving the supplies and the students participating in the project.
