Giving Tree

It's hard to believe November is winding down! Our teachers are keeping things exciting with lots of fun, creative activities. For example, our fourth graders thoroughly enjoyed participating in Colonial Day! They enjoyed hands-on activities to experience what colonial life was like. The teachers organized fun games, dances, butter making, family crest creations, etc. Special thanks to the families who donated supplies and/or volunteered to help the day run smoothly.

As a result of their hard work during our Raise Craze fundraiser, Mrs. Andrews' class won a "Glow Stick" party. Although the room looked just like a dance party, the students participated in all sorts of curricular-based activities that kept the learning going. What a fun, well-deserved celebration!

Now that we are moving into December, we wanted to remind everyone of our annual Giving Tree. Rivers Edge continues to partner with Three Chopt Elementary and the ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation to provide some of their families with holiday cheer. Our Giving Tree is similar to the Angel Tree program seen at the malls. The tree is located in our main hallway, and anyone can stop by and take one of the requests off the tree. There are be large boxes in the hallway for the gifts that are purchased. We ask that you please wrap the gifts and attach the request (eagle head) to the package. The last day to turn in any Giving Tree gifts will be Friday, December 12. We are very grateful for our supportive community!
