Although we only have a few more days of schools, learning has not slowed down at Rivers Edge! Check out the pictures of our 5th graders discussing their recent novel, Number the Stars. Students participated in Socratic Seminars which are student-led discussions designed to foster critical thinking and deeper understanding. They were able to explore ideas through questions and dialogue as opposed to simply memorizing facts from the book. The discussions were genuine and impressive!
Meanwhile, some of our 4th graders spent time completing research projects and sharing presentations with their peers. In the invitation shared with administrators, this was referred to as "Genius Hour" presentations...and we quickly learned they were aptly named!
