A Message from the Principal's Office

We’re excited to introduce our updated Rivers Edge Elementary School website! With a fresh look and easy-to-navigate layout, finding the information you need is easier than ever. Whether you’re looking for upcoming events, the latest school news, or a glimpse into the fun happening around REES, it’s all just a few clicks away!

Here are a few places to explore:

  • Photos: Scroll through the front page to see the learning, celebrations, and special moments happening throughout our school!
  • Calendar: Click School Links or What’s Happening at the Edge > REES Events/Calendar  from top navigation to stay up to date with important dates, upcoming events, and school activities.
  • Announcements: Click What’s Happening at the Edge > Announcements from top navigation to watch the latest school news, reminders, and important updates.
  • The Current Connection: Scroll to Featured News on our home page to view Mrs. Freundt’s weekly Current Connections as well as the HCPS Binder for  news, reminders, and everything you need to know

New and Important News

House Competition: Food Drive Collection
Our next House competition is officially underway! This time, our Eagles are coming together for a great cause through a Canned Food Drive to support families in need this holiday season.

We encourage families to send in canned food donations with their children, who can place them in their designated House collection box. Not only will students earn points for their House, but they will also have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in our community!

Donations will be collected through November 16th. Thank you for helping our Eagles SOAR by showing kindness, generosity, and support for others!

Parent/Teacher Conferences
We were so happy to see so many families this evening during Parent/Teacher Conferences. If you were unable to schedule a time to meet with your child's teacher and would like to do so, please contact them directly.

Family Handbook/Safety Reminder of the Week
Student ID cards
All HCPS students will receive a student ID on a lanyard for use throughout the school year. The white cards will include the student’s name and student number, but they will not include a photo. Students will scan their ID cards when getting on and off the bus, checking out books from the library, purchasing items in the cafeteria, and for late arrivals. The student IDs are part of a multi-layered safety plan and efforts to streamline operational processes at the school. If your child misplaces his/her ID, please notify the classroom teacher. One replacement will be made without a fee. Families will be charged $5 for any additional replacements.

Cafeteria Volunteers
If interested in volunteering in the café, please sign up for time by clicking our Cafeteria Volunteer SignUp Genius.  We ask our REES café volunteers to assist students with opening up their lunch items and cleaning tables at the end of the lunch period. Don’t forget to complete the HCPS Volunteer Application before signing up to help.

Volunteers/Visitors for special events
Complete 2026-2027 Volunteer applications today! Please note that there must be a new application every year and you MUST complete one in order to visit the school or chaperone field trips. All visitors, at any time, must present a physical photo ID (not a picture).
